We hear a lot about the school-to-prison pipeline, and there are many great people and programs supporting at-risk students. This program will delve into another group of at-risk students: those quiet students who sit in the back of the class and do not draw attention to themselves. These students are fighting internal battles and are at a higher risk of suicide. Everest High School, a trauma-informed high school in Belvidere, Illinois, works with these students by providing a stable, safe, and supportive environment that helps restore self-confidence and sets students on a positive path for success after high school.
